Garbage Shadows

shadows of garbage on a wall, Route 1/9, New Jersey

So, after a beautiful stay in Florida this last week (see previous two posts), I had to laugh at seeing this scene on Route 1/9 in New Jersey, while coming from the Newark Airport on the way toward the Holland Tunnel. This is what NYC snobs think of as "New Jersey", as if the whole state had only these environments. Oh, well, what can you say?

Yeah, I hear ya about the snobs' stereotype. EVERYBODY thinks the city when they hear "New York." And when you clarify as to what is Upstate, they think "Appalachia." :-p

I've lived in Appalachia, in Manhattan, and Upstate. Upstate is best. :)

Really like this photo! Seems like the shadows of trash are falling through the net.
