Little Man Bridge

little man on the Brooklyn Bridge, New York City

The little man scoots across the pedestrian walkway on the Brooklyn Bridge during the early evening Friday. You gotta love the sweet guy, leaving an "O" for "Otilius" for me like that. ;]

Hanging Stuff

hanging metal scene on a brick wall

So, if you cannot have your own restaurant with outside dining, why not get a little metal rendition of one, complete with umbrellas, to hang on the neighbor's wall? The bricks look kind of rough and rust never sleeps, either.

Shawnee Clouds

cloudy sunset at Shawnee, Pennsylvania

Late afternoon clouds create a momentary early sunset at Shawnee, Pennsylvania, at the end of a nice canoe float on the Delaware River. It's great to really "get out there" by driving fewer than 100 miles from The City.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

PS--Wow! A guy used my last post without asking: it's his most recent post. Not only that, the guy squishes the photo to fit his format. Check out my stolen and distorted work at http://earthtodavid.com.

UPDATE: He took down the post. For future reference, if you want to post about one of my photos, get permission to use the photo or, AT LEAST, actually use words in your post that discuss the photo. If you simply post the photo without permission and use no words, how does that tell me anything other than you are a photo thief?

The Strangers

movie posters on temporary wall with water tower background, Manhattan, NYC

What's a sweet young woman like that doing in a scary movie? "Once an elf, always an elf..." Oh, well, makes a nice poster, huh?

Henry

For something completely different today, I humbly submit to you Henry, the pole vaulting fish. I shot this a couple of years ago at Wakulla Springs, Florida, but not very many people have seen it, since I never really show it to anyone. Hmmm...let's change that, shall we?

I had never seen anything like this before, so I hope you enjoy watching Henry, too. Total running time is 30 seconds.

Garbage Curb

high pile of garbage on curb, 22nd Street, Manhattan, NYC

Just another rainy Friday night on 22nd Street in Manhattan (taken about 6:30 PM). This isn't the biggest pile of garbage on a sidewalk I've seen, nor is it the smallest. I guess it's "just right". ;]

Light Play

shadows and light play on a sidewalk

Of all the blessings we have, our mothers rank at the very top. We owe them our very lives. Mothers are our shadow and light and everything in between. I dedicate this play of light to all the mothers out there.

Happy Mother's Day!

Tree Building

part of new construction seen through trees, Manhattan, NYC

Now, don't get too excited. The structure does not really touch the trees but seems to because of my position, etc. I thought it looked like the beginnings of one terrific tree fort.

Composition With ESB

composition with the top of the Empire State Building

When you move around Manhattan, you never know when you might catch a glimpse of the Empire State Building. I caught this one showing only some of the top, as I descended an escalator on Sixth Avenue.

Aww, Andy

Andy Pettitte on the mound for the Yankees in early game action at Yankee Stadium

Andy Pettitte prepares to pitch in early game action last night in The Bronx. However, in the last April game ever at the present Yankee Stadium, Andy and the Yankees lost to the Detroit Tigers. Andy started off well but the lousy supposed-to-be-so-great-this-year Tigers decided to correct some of their early season horribleness at his expense. Jerks!
