Seattle

Seattle buildings from King Street Station

Seattle, Washington--as seen from King Street Station...You can see the tallest building on the west coast, too (Columbia Center a.k.a. Bank of America Tower, 285m/937f, 76 stories, the black one).

I love the perspective on this one.

You always see these arial shots of cities; skyscrapers and treetops, the magnificent skyline views-- I have some beautiful pictures of the Atl. skyline. But in between, and far below, all of those sleek glass and chrome buildings there is this whole other world made of bricks and mortar, plain gray cement and blacktop. The heart of a city. Its humanity. I think you've captured that incredibly here.

This is a perfect reflection of the contrast between the city as strangers know it and the city seen through the eyes of the people who live within it.

My eye is first drawn up to admire those beautiful, regal structures-- yet I can't help but be drawn down into the details you've captured of what 'real life' is like there. And that is where my fascination lingers. In metal railing and cinder block.

I think this is one of the best that you've taken so far.

The dichotomy that is the very essence of an old city.

I absolutely love it!

This is lovely. Again you capture the atmosphere and the mood of the place.

Happy BYB Sunday.
