Through a goal post at the McCarren Park field in Brooklyn, you can see the top of the Empire State Building.

In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, how much longer will buildings like these remain?

Hotel Diptych

For the last 3 days, I have been meeting at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Broadway near Times Square.

Another Monkey

A cuter, funnier PRIMATE invades the subway system. In this case, the Nassau Avenue "G" platform in Brooklyn...

War is Over

Right this way--No sign necessary.
A big group exhibit, "War is Over", at Sideshow Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, attracted a good TURNOUT.

Cab Ride

After enjoying a couple of bottles of bubbly to celebrate my birthday, we took a taxi downtown. It's always fun to see RIDERS in other cabs. We even passed a NICE RIDE along the way...

La Esquina

"The neon sign reads 'corner', a nod to the deli that preceded it, but that’s just a colorful ruse. If LA ESQUINA is as much stage set as restaurant, that’s because it’s owned by Serge Becker, the designer and nightlife entrepreneur behind such hipster loci as Bowery Bar, MK, and Area." Weekend Extra: Oregon

I had my Spidey Senses tingling when I saw this scene...As you know, I took a break for the holidays and went to Oregon. A visit to the West Coast's oldest LIGHTHOUSE became one of the highlights of my trip. Here's a shot from the watchman's DESK.

Brooklyn Vulture Reprise

Remember this big bird from a shot I took back in SEPTEMBER? You could own it for only $500. I saw the For Sale sign and just had to ask...

Happy New Year!
As you can see from the photo above, I'm back from my visit to Oregon. Through the plane's dirty window, you can see a bit of lower Manhattan (see the bright highlight just below the wing, about a third of the way from left to right?) and a little New Jersey fly-over (I flew into Newark and, boy, are my arms tired!).
Check out this shot through a window of the GIFT SHOP at the aptly named Cape Foulweather, Oregon. And, this one, too--YARRRR!

Oh, Yeah

Happy New Year! I'm still in Oregon having a good time with family.
