Peek-a-Boo ESB
Without me planning such, this week has become a sort of "Empire State Building Week". Hopefully, you have enjoyed the photos. You might recognize this shot from a PREVIOUS POST. This time, we see the top of the Empire State Building peeking through a building on Sixth Avenue in the afternoon.
Though it seemed that I had taken the shot more recently, I took the older one almost exactly two years ago to the day. I guess I like it so much, it stays in my mind's eye.
PS--You can also see how my blog template improved from that time but I have not gone back and edited all of the older posts. Too much work. Back then, though, you could click on the photo for a larger version. Enjoy!

A Winter Passing
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did
one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was
all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.
Women and men (both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain
[all apologies to e.e. cummings]

Paris Hilton & The Linguists
8) As you know from a PREVIOUS POST, I happened to see Paris HIlton during my trip to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. I liked her white jacket.
7) "Justine" through glasses and glass...
6) Window on Park Avenue, Park City, Utah
5) Main Street, Park City, Utah
4) Award-winning icicles!
3) You can literally get on the chairlift right in town on Main Street, Park City, Utah.
2) With light snow falling on Main Street, we see producers and talent from the feature documentary THE LINGUISTS pose in front of the Egyptian Theatre. A hot ticket at this year's Sundance, the movie follows two linguists around the globe as they record a few of the world's currently endangered languages.
The man wearing the "CAT" hat in photo center speaks in the film and comes from Arizona. I talked to him and one of the linguists (far right) after the screening. Great movie!
In photo #1, we see Geretta Geretta at the blackfilms.com party, Sundance Film Festival, Park City, Utah
Please forgive me. I have not yet gotten back in the swing of things, since returning from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. You will get 13 photos today but you must check back in order to see them all. As the day advances, I will put them online as I ready them for your eager eyes.

ABSOLUT Otilius
At one of the many Sundance Film Festival parties around Main Street in Park City (this one hosted at Queer Lounge), I had my picture taken for ABSOLUT vodka's "Global Cooling" campaign.

Geretta Geretta & Paris HIlton
"Cheers!" from veteran filmmaker (actress, director, writer) Geretta Geretta at the blackfilms.com party during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. In her early days, Geretta starred in Dario Argento's DEMONI (DEMONS). She even starred in a cooking show in Santa Barbara, California directed and produced by yours truly.
Now, she is working on directing her second feature film, THE ART OF SPOONING, coming soon to a theater near you.
Park City, Utah. It's my birthday. The Giants have just beaten the Green Bay Packers. I leave the blackfilms.com party at Celsius to go look around Main Street for my housemates. A long story shortened, I get right next to the fabulous Paris Hilton as she makes her way to a getaway vehicle. Of course, my lousy camera doesn't flash. But, hey, it was hot.
My advice? If you must fail, fail big! (enjoy some lemonade I created from the lemon...
PS--Hey, Paris, I was the guy with the fun hat. ;]

Gimbels Skybridge
Something old, something new on 32nd Street...Here we see the old Gimbels skybridge which linked two buildings of the former rival to Macy's. Gimbels department store no longer exists but the skybridge remains.
Of course, it seems no NYC area could be complete these days without a new luxury condo (or two), like the tall building on the left. "Live Greater", indeed.

Construction
I keep thinking that I am in the wrong business. Lately, construction goes on everywhere in the NYC area. Here, an object dangles from a crane in Jersey City, NJ, a short block from the Hudson River.
Here we see a close up shot of the same object. It is a section of the crane stand, which enables the crane to go higher and higher.

ESB Glimpse
Of course, you know it's always there. Moving around the city, you go from full-on views to little peeks and so on. Then, when you forgot about it for a second, you come to a corner and look over to see the Empire State Building between the HBO building and through some construction scaffolding. Always fun to see!
