Ledge Cat
cat outside a window, one floor up

Seems like the cat got out somehow and cannot get back inside. Hmmm...

UPDATE: Ledge Cat still out there, and now it's late. The poor thing!

Memorial Day
the top of the Empire State Building as seen between buildings and flags, Manhattan, NYC

Please forgive the reprise, since when I originally took this shot, I intended to first publish it on Memorial Day. However, I liked it so much, I put it on the blog right away.

Happy Memorial Day!

Billy's Tower
water tower above Billy's across from the retired Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NYC

For a Memorial Day Weekend Treat, here's another shot from Yankee Stadium...well, the area, anyway. See, Billy's sits across the street from Yankee Stadium--the retired one.

Located literally across the street from The Stadium, this row of businesses enjoyed a prime location up until The New Stadium was built. Fans still come off the train and see Billy's (and Stan's, etc.), but to go there requires them to turn against the flow of traffic toward The New Stadium. Oh, Billy!

Sidewalk Trees
shadow of trees on sidewalk

Who is it now,
Who calls me inside?
Are the leaves on the trees
Just a living disguise?

I'll walk home again,
To the street melody,
Shadows and Tall Trees.

lots to see reflected in an Adams Morgan window, Washington, D.C.

I spent a few days in Washington, D.C., last week and enjoyed looking at this window in Adams Morgan one afternoon. The nice weather and the cold beer were pretty good, too.

Roosevelt Island
oldest building on Roosevelt Island, NYC

"What's that?", you're thinking, "Is that a house?" Believe it or not, we have a few around NYC, especially once you get out of Manhattan. This one is the oldest building on Roosevelt Island, located in the East River between Manhattan and Queens.

Happy Mother's Day!
