Bald Eagle

a bald eagle in a pine tree, Weeki Wachee, Florida

A bald eagle rests in a pine tree above the Weeki Wachee River in Florida. You might notice the "Spanish Moss" hanging on the limbs of the tree as well, which isn't Spanish nor is it moss. It's an air plant related to the orchid.

Happy Halloween!

oh, that spanish moss is a new knowledge! Great photos as usual!

actually, spanish moss is not very closely related to orchids...it is a member of the bromeliad family, which makes it somewhat related to pineapples.
