Hazy ESB

the Empire State Building in hazy weather, Manhattan, NYC

Our blue sky days gave way to the humid haze, as we see here looking at the Empire State Building from 42nd Street on the west side.

Have they left the Empire State building looking retro or is it all redone? It is one of the places I'd like to see if I ever get to New York and actually leave Penn Station.

I still wonder what that really interesting place was with onion domes and red sides. I woke up to it at dawn on the AmTrak train from Florida. Still never figured out what it was.

WOW! Really don't know what to say. That is one AWESOME shot for sure! Totally love the church top to the right also.

thanks, everybody! Laura, the ESB still has the same feeling inside, though there's a better restaurant now at the corner of 34th and Fifth Avenue (technically in the building, of course).

as far as the onion domes...I can only think of Ellis Island but I don't know if you would see that from the train.

the net catches things that may fall off the construction site/building. the church, I believe, is the Croatian Franciscan Sisters.
