Commodore Barry

statue of Commodore Barry with Independence Hall in background

I went to Philadelphia this weekend and bring you a souvenir. This statue depicts Commodore John Barry, who on today's date, March 10th, defeated the British in the last naval battle of the American Revolutionary War in 1783.

You can see Independence Hall in the background.

Eagles fans can be pretty tough. I still remember the applause they started when Michael Irvin had his career ending injury on their field. What else would you expect from the city of brotherly love...

hey, hey now. I'm from Philly. Don't be too harsh. And while I love the Eagles, I wouldn't throw batteries at Santa Claus. (and I rooted for the Giants, because I hate the Pats that much), so I can't be too bad.
