MetLife
Looking south down Park Avenue, you see the MetLife building behind Grand Central Station. No, it has nothing to do with the New York Mets baseball team, silly. MetLife happens to be a major insurance company. "Get Met, it pays" or something like that. Anyway, I wish that building didn't exist because Park Avenue canyon photos could look so much better.

Cleopatra's Needle
What a beautiful day! Here we see a close up of Cleopatra's Needle in Central Park. Though well over 3,000 years old, the obelisk looks to be in better shape than some newer places downtown. And, come on, you gotta love those crabs, yo!

Sidewalk Closed
A little walk through a Jersey City (New Jersey) neighborhood yields this sidewalk scene--red fire hydrant with a silver top, no extra charge. This part of Jersey City, I keep telling you, is right across the Hudson River from lower Manhattan. Yes, one stop on the PATH train. Go for it!
Oh, and, the wall with the tree shadow may become a window soon, according to the shopkeeper there. So, enjoy things while you can.

No Parking
Cheers to color in our lives, even the color brought to us by criminal means. ;]
Before you go, check out last Sunday's post which I forgot to publish until today. Blessed are we bloggers for the freedom to post whenever we want.

Benjamin Franklin
One of the greatest Americans of All Time, ladies and gentlemen, Benjamin Franklin! You smarties out there will enjoy the little extra provided by the sculptor--the keys all over the surface of the big bust.
The impact he made on his world and ours would take too much space here. He invented the lightning rod, the glass harmonica, the Franklin stove, bifocal glasses, and the flexible urinary catheter. "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise", indeed.
